Hi there, This is my first contest on DP and I hope it will be a good one. This contest is up for a 2 week period to start. So Feb 19th will be the contest end date. I have full intentions of buying a logo. That being said I may have to extend it if I havent found what I am looking for. So here is what the contest is about: I need a logo for a page called type[dot]in (you may have a look on the site, but please don´t let your imagination being limited by that - site is going to be fully redesigned), which is domain market place. Now if a guy is looking for cars it´s possible that he types in cars.com in the browserbar instead of searching through any search engine for sites associated to cars. Now that is called a type in. Additionally to that the page is part of a domain network. So the associations created by the logo should be domains, type ins and network. How to do that I will leave to your skilled hands and your graphical imagination The look and feel of the logo shouldn´t be fancy but rather more elegant, professional and modern. If there are any questions feel free to ask. I will of course comment on any design. The winner most likely will get another job from me in adjusting the logo to business card and stuff.
Ok heres a modern like logo. I can change colors of EVERYTHING so I will take request to edit the colours. PM ME IF INTRESTED PLEASE Thank You
Alan, I´m afraid no you are not going the right direction -> hopefully my English lasts to be able to give you a good specification why not: It´s simply to complicated so to say and needs to being displayed in a rather big size to have the domain/brand readable... additionally to that - no offense meant at all - I don´t really like the text itself... Scott, Thanks for the input. I miss somehow the original idea on the connex between the brand type[dot]in and it´s meaning for domainers as well as the networking aspect of the project...
offiri0, sorry as well here I´m missing the associative part... basically I believe it´s mainly the idea which needs to fit... Probably I should post some links of logos I like (and that do imho give the correct associations): http://tit0.deviantart.com/art/SLC-logo-92354805 http://trcakir.deviantart.com/art/Lemon-111967357
Thx jokersofjoker... it´s not really what I´m searching for I am afraid.... with all of these I miss the linking part...
Well yes I need a logo that associates the idea of type in traffic with the network idea that the project is all about... and the logo should be modern, professionall and clean/vectoralike... I know this are many requirements, but if I would just wanna have "a logo" I could as well stick with the old one... no offense meant to anyone providing logos so far...
Thats just from top of my head: let me know if you like the basic idea, everything else, colours, fonts, can be tweaked
Here is my attempt: If you need any color, size, position, or any other changes please ask. Feedback appreciated.
im going to show you the reason for the logo. The reasoning behind the: Globe symbolizes the internet: domains and networks (the internet is a group of networks...it is typically represented by a globe) The T with the underline beneath it represents the symbol your cursor changes into when typing The cursor hovering over the "button" symbolizes the person clicking on the "search" button Tell me if you like the idea please.
Hello. I think I know what your looking for now and I hope this is a step in the right direction. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Alan
I don't know if you are interested in 3d logo, but here it is. It required kinda much of skills and effort. Whew
my second try: PS: I made these then saw a similar design above. I honestly did not copy that design and if you wont accept mine because of the similarity, I understand.
@kolgames, I´m sorry but that somehow doesn´t really look professional to me - don´t wanna offend you in any way - this is just my personal feeling. @macrules, your 2nd design comes closest to what I´m searching for - at least I can find an association to networks there and it looks kinda professional, but somehow I miss the type in association there - probably you can try fitting that in? As well I don´t really like the font used. @jokersofjokers, I understand your explanation, but still I cannot feel it right away without having an explanation for the logo. I need the logo to associate without needs for explanation how the logo associates to type ins and networks. @lalas, thx for your input. This logo seems - to me - not fluently enough... not easy enough to the eye... it´s hard to explain, but it somehow doesn´t resolve to the eye... @alananimation, I like the idea of introducing http allthough I would probably rather more have that smaller than type.in and make e.g. something like that [small]http://[/small]type.in and the n in type in spreading up like a network Thx for the input to all
