I have a question about domain relevalance. I am looking to register multiple domains and need opinions on which verbage do you think would rank higher for relevalance.

I have a manufacture we will call them xyz company that makes widgets. Which do you think would rank higher, just on domain relevalance:

    xyz-widgets.com or xyzwidgets.com

I have a competitor that does just this, and he always gets the top spot for the industries I am in. He uses the 2nd variation. Just looking for opinions based on experience.

    Thanks in advance

my original concern was the manufacture and the model numbers sometimes spell different words if the hyphen is not in there.

    For example.

    Manufacture: COF

    Item: Fee100

now my domain would be coffee100.com. So if I am in the widget business now my domain is in the coffee business. On a couple of the domains I want this happens to with the manufacture and item number. That is why I was wondering which would rank higher all other factors the same.

My line of thought would be to use hyphens to separate out the words in the URL for 2 reasons.

    • Better potential for keyphrase(s) within the URL
    • Better readability for the user visiting the site.

    As an example...

    wyw.widgetworldwidgetmakers.com

    wyw.widget-world-widgetmakers.com
