A few suggestions that come to mind at present: 1) Get rid of all the domain appraisals in the domain sales sub-forum. This speaks for itself. Members go to the domain sales forum as their interested in purchasing domains, not valuing them. Domain appraisals should remain in the Business > Domains forum section. 2) Make it a requirement that the seller states upfront a minimum bid amount they would accept for the sale, or better still a BIN price. I'm finding there are too many threads of the like "this domain is up for sale to see what I can get for it" which just clutter up the domain sales sub-forum and place less emphasise on the genuine domain sales threads. That's enough of a rant for now. I always hate saying shit like this, as it means additional work involved (especially when you really dont need it) so I'm more than willing to assist in anyway I can. cheers
ha, then you get someone selling a "three letter domain" which has a number in it and after people start posting their bids he says that he is expecting some ridiculous amount for it... BTW, domain appraisals shoudn't even be posted here, this isn't a domain related forum, there are many other places where they can get their domain appraised
heh, i saw that thread the other day actually. just slightly high expectations I'm not big on domain appraisals at all. Everyone values domains on a different basis based on what they know. What makes one more right then the other!? Many times Ive seen the same appraisals range in value from 1 figure through to 4 figures... which just goes to show how unreliable they can be. I'll let you know what the domain is worth after I've sold it! heh
I'm not a big fan of appraisals myself, but if I don't make a specific place to put them, they will clog up the other forums. So I've made an Appraisal Forum for that purpose (it's a sub-fourm of the Domain Names forum). I've moved the existing appraisal request threads to the new forum, but if anyone happens to see ones I missed, feel free to use the "Report This Post" to bring it to a moderator/administrator's attention.
