Domain Sale Scams and Namecheap

I am in the process of selling a domain for $200 and have already received a PayPal payment for it. The domain is registered at Namecheap and I am going to push the name to the buyer shortly. However, I have heard about scams in which the buyer issues a chargeback shortly after the name is transferred, leaving the seller with neither his domain nor his money. In almost all of these cases Godaddy has been the registrar involved and has done nothing to help the seller, but does Namecheap work with sellers who have been scammed this way to get their domains back?

Hey I didn't know that was possible... maybe you can wait till the funds gets deposited into your checking account free and clear before you transfer the domain...

Not only does this happen in domain sales. I provided a service for this guy and moment after i paid him he charged back by paypal dispute.

What you need for every transaction you make over paypal is proof (tracking #, etc.) or be a Verified Business PayPal member to avoid such mistakes.

If you're scared have him open a dispute then close it. This will assure you he cant get his money back from that transaction
