Hi, A basic question. If i register a domain name at GoDaddy for example, if i buy http://domain.com Do you need to buy another domain name http://www.domain.com or there are settings where you can redirect? Thanks in advance
For most of registrars, when you buy a domain.com It will work in both domain.com or www.domain.com Though for some hosting (such as dreamhost), when you add your domain to your hosting account, you will be given option of how you want your website to look like:
www.domain.com and domain.com are the same. Man the real domain .com must have like 2 zillion backlinks lol.
You mean A record. Normally domain.com and www.domain.com are different things but registrars offers this for free.
Man there is no need to register two domains for it. It is server side thing. All you have to do at the registrar is enter the domain name without "www" and register it. Thanks.
You have to buy only one domain like xyz.com Host it with a Linux based hosting company, and you will be automaticlay getting the both URLs xyz.com and also www.xyz.com If yours is a Windows based hosting, then I assume there is a manual config needed at the hosting server to get www.xyz.com working.
There are no 2 domains The domain is 1 : domain.com www. is a subdomain of domain.com It can be wwwwwww.domain.com or whatever in front of domain.com (GoDaddy is not in my choices of registrars or host providers, there are thousands companies out there with much better domain and webhost services than GoDaddy)
