A common domain registration scam. If you website is very popular or may be if you have registered other extensions of your domain names, the following two scenarios can happen:- 1) They will register a domain with the extension which is already available and then send you a decent mail. But obvious they are expecting you to pay a lot of money for that. So if the actual cost of the domain was $10, they would be expecting $100 or even more. And most of the times they put that domain for auction at sedo.com and then ask us to bid on that domain. 2) They will send you a mail pretending as if they are the registrars and mention that:- "They have received a request for the domain registration with a some xyz extension. However when they did a search for the domain, they came across us and want to offer that domain to us." Now they will ask you if you are interested in registering the domain and if you agree, they will ask more money that the actual cost. So members, please beware of such people. You can become their victim and in most of the cases, you will never get the domain too.
