    Hi all,

I have a domain - www.domain.co.uk (for arguments sake) and due to a java application powering the login to the site the root domain redirects to www.domain.co.uk/static/ (the homepage)

The websites has lot's of links pointing to it including .gov and .edu links and has a PR of 6, ranks well for incredibly broad keywords (www.domain.co.uk ranks)

My question is - we are about to start a link building campaign for it's broad keywords, so would want to build links to the homepage, however which one should be built links to - the root domain (which redirects) or to the homepage www.domain.co.uk/static/

Currently domain.co.uk has 25,000 links and www.domain.co.uk/static/ has 9,000 links.

    What do you think??

I think the root domain due to Google's preference to the root domain and Google lists this page for our rankings for a major keywords.

Your thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

    Misch

since there is permanent redirection.. there's only path that the backlinks are going through, so there is no problem if you link build both..
