Thanks for visiting this thread. This has been puzzling me, say you have 2 domains.

    Domain A has 1000 backlinks
    Domain B has 500 backlinks

You do a perminant redirect on Domain B to point to domain A, does this mean domain A will inherit domain B's PR and backlinks on Google? so domain A would then have 1500 backlinks pointing?

What does domain A actually inherit from domain B?

If you do 301 redirect, this will tell search engines that your pages have been permanently moved from B to A. Then it will be just like you say - A would have 1500 backlinks acknowledged. You've got to have all these pages available on page A though, otherwise the redirect from B to A will make no sense.
