i totally agree that there was a slowdown, but it was consistent with past years. the end of the summer is a typically slow time. just in the last week were fortunate to move:

    Cambuddy dot com $2000
    JumboTube dot com $3500
    M o b i l e W a r r i o r dot com $3550

The market is definitely picking up where it left off.

We are not in a domain recession, it's just that the LLLL.com hype is over & more people are coming to their senses about buying random LLLL.com names with crap letters in them

Yes I think people are just getting smarter and been a bit more careful with what domains they buy but I don't think it is a lot to do with LLLL.com's but more to do with buying silly names with no meaning like whateverblabla.com

I think it, also can just because of too much crazy regging. I know I regged quite a few domains, with Name.com lowering of prices and lots of people regged so much .info.

This makes the market so full of domains people are trying to sell and pass around. Plus since so much money is given to domain register companies that there's not enough money floating around in the market. Which results in less buyers.

So we got increase supply of sellers and decrease in buyers.

How I see it, it won't be until around next year where the market will improve itself. That's just my really rough guess of time of course. No one can really predict the exact time. It's too unpredictable in this industry.

recession? no. i think a bubble is correcting itself across entire market (LLL.com which have been marker of domain prices finally started to fall to more reasonable and sustainable levels... still got more room to fall too imo). LLLL.com was just pure hype, not an indicator of entire domain market. End user sales have been unaffected imo. It's really domainers who have scaled back and brought things more into check for a number of reasons: bad economy across globe, ppc going down tubes, large players reinvesting outside domains, etc.

Recession? With the .me madness going on? With the sales dnjournal is reporting? I think not. Unless it's all smoke and mirrors.

Yes, you just have to look for more opportunities. But there is not really a domain recession! :)

I think all of the people who posted in this thread are real domainers... I would suggest going to domaining.com and get their daily newsletter. I just found it three days ago and I already have to tell people about it!

I agree with you guys in terms of LLLL.com domains, for example: QJKI.com is never going to be worth anything. This is despite it being a short .com domain. Who's to say if some company comes by one day and has the acronym/initials. But, for the most part those domains are going to be useless.

However, LLLL.com's as a whole, given reasonable letter combinations still carry some value even in this "recession" as you call it. The motto is: buy low, sell high -- and regardless of the market conditions, so long as you keep that rule straight you'll do just fine.
