I was just taking a look at alexa and looked up one of my domains which happens to have the privacy from godaddy applied to it (and it has been private since I first purchased it.) Lo and behold, alexa is showing my contact info! Funny thing is, it's not the current info I have with godaddy, it's old contact info for my home address! I couldn't find any other discussion of this and I was wondering if it was a common problem for alexa to disregard domain privacy??
Had the same issue MTBiker. You can edit the info at Alexa and remove it. Takes a couple of days and you must use an email address with the same domain name as the one you are editing.
right... I have no idea, since the domain that I am refferring to was registered privately from the get go.
Thanks, I just removed my info . Didn't notice you could do that. And yeah, what's up with Alexa finding that info??
Maybe when you first registered the domain Alexa indexed the information and after the privacy was applied, Alexa still retained the info and did not realize the privacy function. IT
