I have a domain ive had for a few years, i dont use it any longer, and its nearly going to expire, however it has pr5. I just checked on http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php

Is it worth keeping this domain simply because it has pr5, if i link my new website to this domain, would that be a start in helping seo ?

    Any hints / tips / ideas / thoughts ?

    Thanks

It's good to have a network of sites to get a few incoming links from; start the ball rolling with indexing for all search engines.

If you put all other sites on unique IPs, that even better.

Also, you could monetize that PR value by having advertisers pay for text links, if their is any value in your PR5. Considering the site has been around for a few years, I'd say the value was there. Having older sites also help in ranking for Google. Remember: THE OLDER...THE BETTER!

Don't let it expire, you will lose all Google value. For the $8.95 a year it costs you, hang onto it for sure.

Thanks for info, i kept on to it for another 2 years..

So what would be the best thing to do with this website, in terms of perhaps bettering another one.

The website was movie related where several years ago i had an ok dvd business going, which i then stopped due to other commitments, and the domain has just been sitting there.

Would it be best to start another website, maybe something along the lines writing articles for movies, and letting users write there own articles about movies they have seen, old and new.

As i guess i cant do anything by just having the domain name, ro can i ?

    Thanks
