Hi all, I am trying to make sense of what would be best for me to do. I have a primary corporate domain. And i have a WP blog in a folder under the root. I also have another domain which is the same name as the WP blog. I would like to know if I should point the blog domain to the sub folder or I should have it be the other way around. So I guess an example helps: Main domain: test.com WP blog: test.com/someblog another domain i own: someblog.com i guess I am trying to figure out the best set up to get the best SEO benefit from my blog. Could I have: someblog.com redirecting to test.com/someblog? does that help/hurt? Thanks.
I would set up your blog as a sub-domain of your corporate site as blog.corporatesite.com Google will see this as a separate site which will allow you to write articles with links pointing to pages on the corporate site. This will make full use of the blog as an seo tool and works quite well for this purpose.
if you have a blog on your corporate site, then having the blog on the same domain would make more sense. so yoursite.com/blog or blog/somesite.com is fine. you can redirect the traffic form the blogsite to your main corporate site blog and i dont see any problem with it. as long as you dont have same content on both blogs
Let me get you right b/c I am having a similar issue with my site, my site is (example site) abc.com, and the blog is located at abc.com/bizblog and I have another new domain called bizblog.com are you saying that redirecting this new domain to abc.com/bizblog will not affect SEO?
