Domain Parking for under consruction sites

Hi. I'm currently developing a couple of websites and blogs. Now I'm doing this all by myself so it's kinda slow. I have already registered several domains and planning to get more. All of them will cover my favorite topics.

Then I learned about domain name parking. It sounds like a smart move to park my domains while they're under construction. If I understand this correctly, I register and pay for a domain with a domain service and then sign up for a domain parking service like Sedo or Active Audience. If they accept my domain name, they will create a page for it. Every time someone clicks on the links, I earn some cash and so do they.

Is this correct? And if it is, is there a limit to the number of domains I can park for free at any site like Sedo, Fabulous, etc.? And is there no security risk to my domain registration? That is, I keep it under my name, no problem?

I read about people with hundreds of domains parked. I only plan on getting a dozen plus several blogs. Do you think I'd make enough *supplemental* income from that? Or do I need a hundred sites to make a profit? My sites and blogs are a mix of general interest and niche topics.

Yes you earn a tiny amount and they do if your page links are clicked through. No limit, no security risk with proper companies like Sedo, Fabulous. Yes you get to keep it in your own name.

don't think you will make any money with parking, that is only for high type in traffic .com's that will cost a lot of money to buy. Parking is all but dead, only used so people can make a tiny few cents until they develop the site. Forget about making money from parking as you won't unless you have top .com's.

I agree with save. But if You want to tr it, i would suggest NamDrive.com. It´s quick and easy, you don´t need big portfolio, You can start even with one domain and You don´t have to sign any papers (Sedo).

Yeah, that kinda turned me off about Sedo. I think I'll just ask them to cancel my account. If I go this way at all, I'll try NameDrive. Thank you so much. This forum is cool.

Are you asking about domain parking? As Mephone and save say, it's not really profitable. Domain parking is when you get somebody else to post a home page for your site while it's not done yet. Every time someone types in your domain name (or somehow finds it in via a link or search engine?), they will see that page. The page has links on it. If anyone clciks on a link, you earn a few cents and so does the domain parking service. You can quit domain parking anytime your website is ready.
