i have a ecommerce(buy/sell) type domain name listed on Sedo. It is sitting there for ages but never gone to auction. Search everywhere i found that it must get first bid in order to go to auction.

Is there any other way i can push my domain to auction?
What are easy ways to get atleast first bid without investing in advertising?

You don't have to necessarily push it out on Sedo. If you really want to do it there, then you must contact support because the only way to push it to auction is get one bid.

I suggest listing your name on Flippa if it gets lots of type ins.

Technically, it's against Sedo's terms of service to push a domain to auction. I guess, if you knew someone else who had a Sedo account they could make you an offer on it and you could push it to auction. But, two things:
    1) That is technically against their TOS - so, it's not recommended
    2) If there aren't any other bids, the person who made the initial offer will have to pay at the end.

You should think about trying to promote it other ways. List it on other auction sites at the same time (4.cn, Afternic/GoDaddy, Bido), buy advertising on other popular domain blogs...Tweet about it...the list goes on!
