Domain not dropped?

Ok - i'm new to this - i'm wanting to register a domain that has expired and is listed as being in the "pending delete" phase. I've read that it should be 75 days between date of expiry and the domain being dropped - this domain expired on 8 dec - but has not been dropped (more than 75 days) - so what's the deal?

If it says "pendingDelete" in whois info, it means it should be dropped within maximum 5 days. Because "pendingDelete" period lasts maximum 5 days.

date of last update is listed as the 19th - so i figure that was the date the pending delete status was set - which would mean it should have dropped today.. wouldn't it?

but as i said it's definately over the 75 days

Sometimes there might be 1-2 days, because the whois info provides the info wrong.

well, i can't go without sleep for two more days - and i'm not willing to get ripped off by a 3rd party company out to get my money - so i guess i'm stuffed - at least there's still a chance that nobody else will register it - i dont' think there's high demand for the name - so i guess i'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that when I check in next - it'll be there waiting LOL

I'd herad from a copule of sources to check at 2 - so that's what i did (acutally , started a couple hrs earlier - and went from 2 on the west coast right up till 2 on the east coast - which was hard to figure out considering i'm in the southern hemisphere....

    so...why 10? and 10 where? thanks

I'm working as a domain expert for a domain firm called Webelion and we have some tips, that's one of them. It's just that records get updated at 10 am generally, maybe it's just a coincidence though. 10 pm is to make sure things go right, from 10 am to 10 pm it makes 12 hours. So you will be checking it every 12 hours.

Ok - i'm getting really discouraged here - this domain I want is well past 5 days for the "pending delete" phase - what's goin on? can it be held onto for as long as the registrar wants or what?
What hope have I got of getting this domain if the "pending delete" phase is indefinate?
