I am looking to find a domain name that Google will like. Would there be any advantage of one or the other of the following www.sierravistahomes.com or www.sierra-vista-homes.com?
I think the first is more professional looking but the second better for SEO since the hyphens will be interpreted as white space.
If you want word of your website to spread by mouth, the first would be better. Otherwise, I agree with the above posters, the hyphens are better.
I like the first one if you are looking for professional site that people will remember the name. The second is better for SEO but the one time I had a domain with a hyphen, people always messed up by forgetting the hyphen and someone who had a similar name without the hyphens got a lot of my traffic.
What if I were to get sierra-vista-home instead of sierra-vista-homes. Would leaving the "s" off of homes be detrimental to a search like "sierra vista homes"?
I agree...buy both and redirect one. I personally think the domain with the hyphens will not only better for SEO, it is easier for the end user to read with the quickness.
....and in the future, use "example" URLs to make your point. Never post a URL that you plan on using, but haven't registered, in an open forum. EVER!
Sorry, my Bad. If you can I would every get every variation (with in reason) that you think searchers may type in or look for. I think with the "s" makes more sense, if I had to choose between the 2.
