When searching for domain names, what to watch out for?

I would say you must meet those requirement such as easy to remember,short domain, top level domain and use a related keyword domain.

 

Make sure it's catchy and attractive.If the main keywords are not available,you can think out something innovative
instead.For commercial use,.com is the best choice.

 

It should be short and memorable. Easy to remember and withou hyphens .

 

Domain name should be with COM if possible and shoret and memorable

maybe if your site is related to the car should put the car word in your domain sich as carwash.com

 

i agree with the bizzard must have that word or may be it should be very easy to remember and short.

 

first you must reaserch the most high search engine keyword. example real estate and having home improv niche. so you can use the niche to reg the domain, example home improv niche: buildyourhome.com the most important is good keyword. domain without good keyword=trash. except your domain having good and unique with 4-5 letter. example mambo.com (this domain can get $xx-$xxxx price).

 

it depends on your niche , keywords . also not include well know tms in name

Well normally i check if the domain is not breaking any trademark or anything and if the domain suits my purpose for what i want it

-> Domain name should contain rich keywords (e.g if you are looking to buy domain for your car website than it should have car init)

-> First should see if you can have .com otherwise country extension will be good. (e.g. if you are looking to buy domain for Indian website than go with .com or .in or .co.in

1. keyword related (according to which i want to up my website on it)
2. Most chance to get .com (of course, like .com, if it is available, if not go for .net etc.)
3. Short name (as possible as short and which fulfill your requirement)
4. Must be available (if available, you can get it)
