I know this subject has been and gone but all the same I have just registered a domain name:

    howtohelptinnitus.com

and although the domain name has good keywords in it I was wondering if it would be an good idea to register how-to-help-tinnitus.com too?

I know this question has been asked before but is there really a big advantage of registering the domain without the hypens?.

Its a fact that its important to have important keywords held within the domain name but how would Google decipher a text that has no hypens.

What I am asking is can Google filter domain names for relevance....how does Google read "howtohelptinnitus".......its one word. Wouldnt "how-to-help-tinnitus" be better for search engines to read...or is this about "good" looking domains with hyphens ?

Can anyone clear this up for me ?

google knows the keywords... you don't need the hyphenated version to help with SEO.. in this case i wouldnt bother.

so this means that the algo can read the key words seperately? i.e ..it reads themn as: "how to help tinnitus"`?

Then surely it is no disadvantage to use "how-to-help-tinnitus" except maybe when reading out the domain name

I'd go ahead and purchase the hyphenated one as well. It doesn't cost much, and by doing so you'll be sure no one with similar content will have the similar domain name.
