Hello, id like to get your thoughts on the word "fruity" the word may be at the beginning or the end of the domain, i wont give the domain name away but i want to know what comes into your mind at the word fruity. I think sometimes it sounds sexual, naughty, but the domain idea im thinking of is in no way realated to anything adult, and not related to food either. I just want to know if it gets you thinking adult, because thats actually not my intention for the site i have in mind for the domain. I guess it depends on the country your in too, but still curious to know what you think please.
Another vote for sounding gay im suprised, i wasn't thinking that. I guess it differs around the world, like here in the UK we call cigarettes Fags, but of course in the US a fag is a um... yeah, lol Il be careful what i say if i ever come to America
yes i would also think gay but depends on the other word along with fruity. if it is like fruityRecipes then ofcourse no one will think of gay

Well this is very interesting. I wonder what made you post this John Perhaps I would have thought twice before starting FruityDirectory.com if I had read this. Although in my short 18 year life I have never heard the word fruity be related to anything homosexual. Interestingly a search in Google.com for the word "fruity" brings up nothing related to gayness etc. My site actually pops up in fourth position, which seen as its so new makes me assume that the word fruity is not one that is often used. Whether this is a good or a bad thing I am yet to realise.
Well i think they have just had their fun with me, lol, i dont associate the word fruity with anything homosexual either, not in the UK, i did change my mind on the domain i was going to buy, it was a two word domain and sounded quite good.
Cool Pipes, what was it? I wondered if you'd noticed mine and then asked the question. We could look at this the other way. Who says something "gay" is wrong. Would you remember gaydirectory.com or normaldirectory.com? I know which one I would remember more. Sometimes what seems bad can be turned round to stand out from the crowd. We could say that "bum marketing" sounds sexual. People could assume that bum means sexual related, rather than lazy related. I doubt it matters at the end of the day. You are from the UK and like me, have never associated the word fruity with homosexuality. On that note I would consider it fine to use it if it seems brandable and unique.
No i hadn't seen yours, i prefer not to give out the name, its still available and i think it sounds quite good, i may change my mind again and purchase it. True also that gay isn't wrong either, im becoming interested in the domain again and theres a good chance il go for it. Good points noted above too.
