Hello all you SEO masters I have another question for ya.. When it comes to SEO and Search Engines .. witch type of domain names are better ? Example one : www.name.com or Example two : www.name-name.com. is it better if we use domain names with a single word and not separated with a dash ? does this makes a difference ? bad or worse. Do domain names with no dashes rank higher then domain names with dashes ? I would like to know your opinions ...
get-my-site-on-top-now is better compared to a fused single word like getmysiteontopnow, not much of a difference, but still...
What king_cobra said is what most people believe including myself. If it is example-example.com and that is the same word just repeated, keep it to one word, but if you have two words, use the dash. Same when naming your files.
26 Hyphens in URL Preferred method for indicating a space One or two= excellent for separating keywords Four or more= BAD, starts to look spammy Ten = Spammer for sure, demotion probable? http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-ranking-factors.htm
http://www.national-real-estate-directory.com/real-estate-forum/ That is why we bought RealEstateForum.com as well
I go for the non hyphen for branding PR and visitor purposes.. the engines can read joined up handwriting.. It looks better generally.. and makes almost no difference to seo I believe... go get a couple more links if you are worried.
some of the sites in the msn SERPs have the back to back dashes like keyword--keyword---keyword-companyname.info yikes!
