Howdy folks, I haven't put this site live as of yet as it's better safe than sorry Basically, i have what i consider a great domain name. Lets say it's swissliar.com (it's not). So this is about an airline - 'swiss air'. The liar is not only a play on the words 'air', but also represents the whole theme of the site in which i expose hidden costs and report angry passenger stories etc.. So on the site itself, no where will i mention the word 'liar' as a seperate word. The only time 'liar' will be mentioned will be in addition to 'swiss', with no spaces in between. So basically would 'swissliar.com' be viewed as 'swiss' & 'liar' and therefore i'd be calling 'swiss air' liars, or would it simply be a technicality which i could exploit and get away with?
liar is a negative slur on a company...a liar is one that deceives. Unless you can prove this company is willfully deceptive you can be sued rather easily.
yeah that's what i fear, but technically i wouldn't be using the word 'liar' as it would only be with 'swiss'. So my point is would swissliar be viewed as one word or two? I could therefore claim the two words used are 'swissl' and 'iar'
Ugh...no you can't claim that. What word is Swissl? And what word is iar? And in what context is the site content? Sorry but calling someone a liar even a company is grounds for a suit.
just thought i'd see if there was a technicality there i could exploit anyway cheers for the info, like i said the site isn't live yet as my instincts told me it was a dangerous name to roll with, so you may have saved me a bit of hassle
you could sued for using that name, but if you have evidence to back up your claims, then it's okay. because if they choose to sue you, you'll win, or when you show them your evidence they'll just back down because they know they'll lose the case.
