    hi everybody,
first of all, thanks for all the users and the admins of this forum . This is my first post and hope of your help.

I am planning to start an online shop based on Joomla.

My Question or better said my questions are:
-i found a provider giving for free webspace.freehostia.com
Is it possible that i buy a domain name and in stead of getting http://subdomain.freehostia.com/product#1 as an url for the product1 page i want to have a http://www.mydomainname.de/product1
Has soembody any suggestions how to do it? Should I first buy the domain name then create the account by freehostia
-is there any possibility to get webhosting and get a .de domain name in one package . I found bluehost: is it ok?

-has somebody any ecommerce expierience with joomla

Thanks in advance for any infos

Yeah, but you'll almost definitely have to get a paid hosting service where you can host your domain name. If you want your site to show up as http://www.mydomainname.de, you cannot do that with a free hosting service as you only have a subdomain in that case.

First have an idea for what you'd like to do, then do some search on analytics to find a domain name that is also a catchy, highly searched and priced keyword. With your idea and name in place, get the hosting package; load up your files and get to work :)

I have heard terrible things from people that got both their domain names and hosting from the same place. Though it may be a tad more expensive, get a domain name at a registrar like eNom/namecheap/godaddy and hosting from somewhere else, like bluehost.

    thank you so much
it is no problem when it is not available for free
I think it wouldn't cost me more than 100 euro/year

    A last question:
supposed i bought a name domain and a hosting package from separate providers. how to do so that at the end i get urls with the domain name
    like www.mydomain.de/kjskgdf.php
Should I do it with Domain name transfer or Registration

I have no experience with it cause i never paid for hoosting or domain names

    Thanks again

Well, there is no need for you to do transfer or register the domain. You only need to provider your own necessary information and pay for it, then the registar will do it for you.As to hosting,
the condition is similar. After the hosting provider opens your hosting, you will have an account name and password(you can set it by yourself) to get access to the hosting.
When you have both the domain and the hosting, you can ask your domain registar to help you point your domain to the hosting adress. If your domain registar give you the domain control
panel, you can do it by yourself. It's not very difficult. Then ask your hosting provider to set on their server. When the DNS record becomes effective, you can visit your website.
The last point is,do you have a website?Or you will ask some special company to design it for you? When you want to visit a website, you only need to enter the domain in the browser. As to
url, there's no neccessity for you to enter. When you click different page or link on your website, you will see different url in the browser.Your provider has set it for you.Are you clear?
    Hope it can help you!
