Hi there, I am new to this forum and thought someone would be able to help. I have just got hold of a domain www.lettings.co.uk and was looking for the value of it. The site is currently not making any money but the site has been owned by me since 1997. I am looking at a way of monetising the site or even selling it. I have been offered a large sum of money for it in 2004 but I decided to hold onto it and now I am not sure what to do with it. Any ideas please let me know! Thanks Jamie
There are many ways you can find out how much your domain is "worth." Just run a Google search for "How much is my website worth?" or "How much is my domain worth?" or "What is the value of my website?" and free tools should pop up. I haven't used them much, so I can't tell you which tools I think are the best, but that's a good way of finding some tools to help you calculate the value of your website.
you have chosen the best place to put forward this question, just wait, you can get your answer, some professional guys will offer you help.
you said you were offered a good amount of money. Do you think the offer would be still alid as of today?
I'm not sure I follow you. You say you have just got hold of the domain, but have owned the site since 97. Did you have the site on a different domain? and how long have you owned the domain lettings.co.uk? Anyway, its a great premium domain with huge potential. Obviously the person who offered you the large sum of money for it could see that potential. Not trying to be a smart ass, but the site on it now is no better than the one from 97... (Or at least 2003) This is how Google see's the domain at the moment. You need to get rid of those iframes. Because of its age and history, it would have gained a lot of trust with Google. With very little work, you could be ranking at the top for all sorts of competitive terms in your niche. Don't sell it if your still a letting agent. If you use it right, your phone won't stop ringing. Cheers James
