You will need to get the transfer authorization code (AKA EPP code) from Host Gator. You will also need to make sure that the domain is unlocked and that whoever is listed as the administrative contact email address in WHOIS for the domain will accept the transfer. Once you are have all this together, you can then submit a request to transfer the domain from your godaddy account.

The very first thing you need to do is go to Go Daddy and buy a domain transfer for it. That is how you get started.

I had problem with my domain i couldnt get auth code from the reseller who sold me domain and domain was hosted through heartinternet and they wouldnt help since it was sold by one of their reseller not by them directly....

So i emailed Tucows they gave me authersation code after i passed security questions and then i gave those codes to godaddy and now the domain is back with me.. so you can try the same.
