Hi to all, I am completely new to this forum and I have tried to find the right section to post this thread so if I am in the wrong section, I do apologise beforehand. I was hoping somebody more knowledgeable would give me some insight as to this situation: I currently have 2 live websites running for the same company I work for. The 2 websites obviously have different domain names, are on different webservers and have both been designed by different webmasters. What I'd like to do is link the new website to the old domain name. I have been told to simply change the nameserver with the old domain name to point to the new website's nameserver. Sorry for the lengthy background info. My question now is, how will a Search Engine (for argument sake, let's consider Google itself) interprete this change? While my old domain name will now point to the new website, will an exact google search of my company result in the new website's title and new description to appear? Or will the old website's title and description still appear and only the actual content will change to the new website? Please advise.
