Hi, I am about to register a new domain name in the next few days or so. My site is a football/soccer site under the title, 'Chelsea FC - True Blue' I was thinking about selecting a URL name different from the title as it has more SEO benefits to it. Is is better? Or should I select a name which is my title name. Please give some suggestions.
SEO depends moe on the way content is organised in your website... Even if your domain name is same as title, you can boost SEO by using keywords, tags, backlinks etc... If I were you, i would prefer a domain name similar to the title of my site
It will be beneficial if you will use keyword in domain name so seach domain according to your keyword
I agree with this. When the keyword is in the domain it will be easy to have a good position in the search engine.
chelseafctrueblue. whatever extension doesn't look like a good domain name- it is too long. You could either choose to go for a keyword domain ( example liverpoolfcblog. your chosen extension) or a brandable domain that is easy to remember ( thisisanfield for example).
ChelseaKickoff.com ChelseaBall.com ChelseaRunner.com ChelseaFCSoccer.com Go for a keyword domain.... you will need the SEO benefits.
Domain name makes a HUGE difference for SEO. I have a domain I bought, threw up a Wordpress install with a few articles, and never touched... didn't build any links or promote it or anything. I let it sit for a few years, and now it ranks in the top 10 for a fairly competitive search term (100,000+ searches a month in Google Adwords Keyword tool), which just so happens to be the domain name. Google shows NO backlinks to the site, it has no PR, and it ranks in the top 10. Keyword domain names have a BIG impact!
Thanks for the great suggestion. It is quite short, but only thing has to be when pronouncing it. Also what do you guys think about 'chelseanews.com' I felt that it would be beneficial in both ways. Getting SEO from both title and url.
You could try some Italian domains at livetodot.com - something like Chelsea.is.it might work. Just an idea of course.
