domain name setup

I would like to setup about 10 or more blogs and put them underneath all one domain. I would like to do this for consistency and to feed PR to the other blogs.

So for instance if i had blog1.domain.com, blog2.domain.com, ..., blog10.domain.com where blogN would be a keyword, how would be the best way to link the sites together, directly to each other or through the www.domain.com site?

Is this a really stupid way of doing this?

The reason why I would like to do this is that one blog I have can make me a load of money, I know how to make that money using PPC, but I would rather not. So I would like the other blogs which may not produce much income but have a lot of unique content to increase the PR on my most interesting blog.

    Does all this make sense?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Weblogsinc.com does this with a good number of their sites. Seems to work great for them.

It would work, you just have to make sure your readers know which blog is which. If you were to name them blog1, blog2, etc (which I doubt you will) then the reader might not remember that the content they saw was on blog6 and not blog8.

Also, for the main domain, will it be a listing of the blogs, or a "main blog". Using a "main blog" might make it difficult for people to find the sub-blogs.

Exactly. You want unique names that are easy to remember. For example, if all ten blogs are in the same niche (I'll use trees as the niche) you could name them Oak.website.com, Maple.website.com, etc. People will have an easier time remembering that the story they read about silver maples was in the "maple" blog, rather than blog5 or blogM.

as u r using subdomains u can choose good keywords for all subblogs.See your main domain will have good backlinks and pr.If u use x1.domain.com,
x2.domain.com then are are different pr will not pass from 1 to other, try to link them carefully rather just dumping all at 1 place.
