I have been looking at getting my website optimised by various companies. One company has told me that "There are some severe issues with the general housekeeping of the domain name set up which will fall against compliancy issues " Any ideas what this means?
We need more info to be able to answer this. An URL may be helpful. Without any additional info, I would say it's a lie, it doesn't sound real at all, they're probably making stuff up to increase their fees. Or maybe it's true but they're just not good at expressing what they mean. Why don't you just ask them what it means
I have e-mail them back to ask what they mean. If it helps this was the full message. The site itself is detailed with regard to content. The majority of the content is unique and is detailed within a format that search engines should like. The site is written in HTML which is the best format for search engine listings however there is no real structure to this code or the general make up of the site. It has a number of back links which could be of a better grade and there could be more but there are some. Google itself know of the site and lists all of the recognised pages within its active database. There are some severe issues with the general housekeeping of the domain name set up which will fall against compliancy issues but this should not stop the site being listed at all. We have interrogated Google’s database for your exact title and can not find you at all and therefore the only deduction that can be arrived at is that your site has been sand boxed by Google. This is a bad thing as getting sand boxed basically means that Google thinks you have been doing something outside of their requirements. It does not matter weather this is by accident or on purpose if you are out you are out! This is not a good point to start from and therefore I believe that we need to analyse this site further.
