Domain name SEO ?

I want to have a site for several areas, starting with the one I am in and roll it out to other areas.

What would be the best strategy?

    1. Getting AreaAdjective.com, Area2Adjective.com

    2. Getting Adjective.com and adding subdomain for each area like: Area.Adjective.com

    3. Getting Adjective.com and addng subdirectory for each area like: Adjective.com/Area

I know for #1, each new domain will have a new PR, and Sandboxing could occur.

I am pretty sure that the #2 strategy, each new subdomain would have 0PR but would they be sandboxed?

    I am unsure about #3 ... ?

    TIA

If the areas are sections of a nitch , then you can go with the third . Like insurance, car insurance etc.
If 2 totally different nitchs like pets and colledges then get 2 domains
The sub domains should also work here in case you want to save cost. Most free hosting providers do this .Their site still ranks for hosting while subdomains are considered as different sites. I am not very sure if they will be sandboxed or not.

What I am saying is that if the "areas" you are planning to enter later are a section of the "adjective" which you are developing now then you can go with domain.com/area .
( This will add content to your existing site and you don't have to promote all sites individually. But you will have to design the navigation properly.)

Otherwise , you can go with the other options.

I Could be more specific if I know the areas and adjectives you have mentioned in the first post...

Looks to be the best option for it. You could even just have one domain for the whole expaintion you plan on doing for the site.
