    Hello,
have the domain name propertiesincanada.com for some time.
Does it make sense to put it online with a realty portal software,
add the main categories 'Canadian Properties' and 'International Properties'
and fill it with approx. 5,000 listings and offer it for sale.
Or is it not worth the effort as it would take some time to make
    the site popular.

    Sincerely
    hape

How much traffic are you recieving?

It's a good domain, what I would do personally is develope the site and earn some revenue through that. If you find that it's taking up to much time, then you can sell the domain for a higher price since it'll be established WITH a site and revenue.

You can start off simply with just a few listings (5000 is a lot..) in a directory and place adsense in it.. see how much revenue you earn through your site. If it's working well, you can expand your site to more canadian listings. If your revenue continues to improve, I would then add in the international properties (this isn't 100% necessary since your domain is intended for properties in Canada only).

Domain has never been online ...
    No traffic
Software has an importing/exporting routine and is connected to PropertyListingExchange
So the 5,000 listings would be imported from 30 or so connected sites
Importing is an automatic routine running in the background and would add new listings every day
