Na you need to wait around 75days from the date it expires.

Theres second chances for the current owner, then it gets deleted. Cant remember all the fancy names but theres about 5or 6 stages it goes through before you can register it.

Well, I'll try to make a short description of what really happens to a domain when it expires... Sc0ttish is right about the 75 day period, but lets go into the details!

    1. Expired status
after not being renewed by the expiration date, a domain becomes "expired". For 40 days, all of the services for the domain are shut off and the owner has a grace period to re-register the domain.

    2. Redemption status
After the 40 days have passed the owner needs to pay an additional fee (about 100$) to re-register the domain. This process takes about 30 days to end... In this period, all the whois information is deleted.

    3. Locked status
So the redemption period has passed, and now the domain is being deleted from the ICANN database, which takes about 5 days. The domain is now available for registration by anybody!

So, in total, it takes 75 days for a domain to be deleted completely.

    Hi,
Theveran... Your post is in the wrong section. I think a mod will soon come and move it and you might get penalised for this. Be a little more careful next time.

But Fortius has a good explanation to your question.

    Drew.

Sometimes it can take up to 90 days before you can get your hands on an expired domain. this doesn't mean you need to wait for this date before you can buy it. As soon as the domain expires you should be able to purchase it on back order. This puts you first in line so that it transfers to you automatically once the time is up.
