Sorry, I'm sure it's been posted before just couln't find it. How in the hell can a domain name registrar try to charge several thousand dollars for a domain name that isn't registered?? Nobody is gonna pay that and the name goes to waste! Not to mention, how is it fair. They're not a broker for domains but a legal internet registrar. Never used to be this way...first come...first serverd! How can they get away with this???

Because...they can? Then again, I've never heard of a registrar doing that, especially if it caters to end users like
    you and me.

How did you get that, anyway? Did you search their site, then they said it's available for 4-figures or something?
