Well here is the situation, I basically want to see which domain you guys would recommend I use. Domain 1 --------- Currently a PR4, little over 1.5 years old and consists of 3 words, xxxxyyyyyyzzzzz.com, the first word is "free" the second word is a keyword and the third word is "sites" Domain 2 --------- No PR, coming up to 1 year of age. xxxxyyzzzzzzz.org None of the words are very keyword relevant but maybe the third one will be. So basically I am deciding which domain to use to further develop a new site I am working on. I would like to use Domain #2 just because I like it, but I feel domain #1 will give me a better edge in terms of rankings just because of the age and pr. What do you guys recommend? How much of an edge would this even give me? Domain #1 is indeed indexed and does get 10-15 uniques from google but it will be a bit of a different site so ya.
Without actually knowing the domains, it's hard to tell which one would be better used for the website. However, from what you've described, it seems like Domain #1 would be the better choice for several reasons. If the domain is already indexed in Google and has a PR4, you've got a head start on SEO and overall development. Secondly, a .com domain is almost always better than a domain of another TLD, especially .org. I would definitely recommend using the first domain.
Maybe your talking about getting links from a .org is better? I doubt the TLD help sites rank better - it's search engine optimization, content and link building that makes sites work best.
Thats probably what I confused it with. So your recommendations would be to go with domain #1 as well? Even though domain #2 may sound cooler (to me at least)
