hi all, i bought 5 .org domains and currently trying to seo it and trying hard to make it appear first page in SERP for the keywords. In my case, the keyword is the domain name. with no extra character or "-" etc. I found out, its harder to rank a .org, than rank a .com. i know because i have 10 .com running, and they ranked fast...compare to these .org Is this a fact??
You may have chosen a set of highly competitive keywords for the .org domains.. As what has been mentioned by Monty, the domain extension should not have any differences in terms of SEO.
and I would say the .com is the premium.....and google does factor everything about the domain name, who it is registered to, and for what length of time ( I've even heard they favor domains with a brick and mortar address behind them....speculation at best, though )...I worked for a an ICANN accredited registrar that discouraged the use of .org's unless the registrant was truly a nonprofit....and if it's important to have .gov and .edu backlinks, then suffix, or TLD, might factor in....I stick strictly with .com's....but again, it's SPECULATION
domain extension will not affect your ranking. Choose your keyword wisely and you should be able to rank well with any extension at all.
I don't think there is any difference in rankings for a .com and .org domain. We have some websites with .org extension, are they are doing very good in search engines
I know .info names are really hard to rank , due to the name registration companys selling them off really cheap ,attracting spammers
