domian name has to play a part but i disagree it is totally important, it this were the case then www.apple.com would be a major player in the fruit industry, and yet they still acheive a PR10 ranking for computer related electronics. It also comes down to HOW you promote your site, but a domain name strongly targeted to your niche will boost you chances for sure
This is not true, you have 1540 incoming links to your site. so i think you bought a domain that already have 1540 links to it somewhere on the web, which is a very good method to rank well on the first page. so it`s not because of the keywords in the domain it`s because the links that came with it.
yeah....domain is obviously a very efficient factor. But you're lucky since you got the domain. these days its hard to find available domain names with the exact related words to the content. Anyway, since you got a good start..dont kick back..keep building back links. All the best
I completely disagree that the domain name is important, and if you are not convinced, just do a search on Google to see how they are moving towards the importance of website BRANDS.
Cannot agree. Domain name is important factor, because if google searches in domain name too, so it is bringing high importance.
Continue with your work and you will see great results. I think domain name plays some part in ranking but I also have very good rankings with domains not containing the targeted keywords. So there is many more factors to consider.
100% wrong I can get anything.com/keywords/ ranked just as quick as keywords.com backlinks and content are far far more important then the domain name anyone that tells you otherwise, are trying to sell you something
Sometimes it doesn't play a role at all. I have tefra.org for example, but my site doesn't even appear at all in the top ten for "Tefra".
Domain name is important but it is not the only factor, it will help rank quicker but there are sites without the keyword in their domain ranking better than sites with keywords in their domain. Content still plays an important factor.
Yes it is true. I bought a brand new domain from namecheap.com. Those 1540 links are all me and my hardwork and knowledge of SEO. im not good at it but i know how to get links. I think content is important, but if you have a good domain name then I see that as free traffic. The rest is up to content. I never had a good domain name but i always got traffic. Since blogger deleted my site or whatever i searched for a good domain and now im on 1st page. I get maybe 10 hits a day from it but i see that as targeted FREE traffic. Then i get about 100 hits from google a day because of my posts and SEO. This is all done in a week. Im the king of VOIP lol. Thanks for all the input here.
It won't last if you don't back up your position with consistent daily backlinks, and new content. I know this from my own experience with one of my sites. Good luck with your site !
i only run one site. So i will be able to maintain. I dont see a point in doing more than a couple sites at a time because most will be maintained poorly unless you are the best at seo.
For some keywords perhaps. But there are not big brands in every industry, especially if you are a niche marketer. I think it's in google's interest to promote the big brands more to establish more trust with their search results.
Domain name plays a role in your site. You can easily rank high on that keyword especially if the number of competitors are low.
I totally disagree and my revenues support my opion, as do yours apparently. Am I trying to sell something? No. DOMAIN NAME = MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR KEYWORD.com will rank ahead of WORD.com/KEYWORD - This is the truth. If you place some content on both sites the KEYWORD.com will rank higher.
