Cheapest VOIP Calls is a very non-competitive keyword phrase. Globally, there are only about 10 searches for that exact phrase a day. I see you at #9, which translates to about a 3% CTR which means you could expect about 10 visitors a month. As mentioned, it's common for brand new domains to rank well for an initial period of about 2 - 3 weeks and then fall completely out of the rankings. You'll want to find other keywords that will actually bring you traffic. Keyword match in the domain is an important part of the google algorithm, but it is only one of many factors (probably 100) and domain name alone will not be enough for any competitive keyword. For competitive keywords, backlinks, domain authority are the most important - anyone who says different doesn't know what they are talking about - and don't forget domain age, it's very important too.
Exact match domains work well for non competitive keywords. But don't expect to get an exact match domain for a more competitive keyword and be ranked number one based on the domain alone.
your already wrong. I got 25 hits for that just today. and obviously i dont target one keywork, im targeting cheap voip calls as well, which is a little more competitive. I write good contect that i get mamny keywords, also Cheapest voip calls is not only 10 a day. Keyword tool says total of 1000 globally. This is free traffic because its not what I target.
You don't know how to use the keyword tool. Broad match is 1000, but exact match is 320 a month. Today's traffic probably has something to do with your post and visitors who read it. Even a #1 ranking wouldn't produce 25 visitors a day for an exact match.
ok i see what your saying. Im confused now, i can put up to t3 keyword phrases into my title. I dont know what to put. the keywrods that get 5000+ hits a month i dont think i can compete in, i know i cant compete with those. right now im thinking: Cheapest VOIP Calls | Free VOIP Phone Calls | Cheap VOIP Calls do you think that is good? can you recommend some for me? im not a SEO noob i know how to get baclinks and how to get up on the serps, i have another site that gets good hits a day. I just need help targeting keywords, if someone could assist me.
Keyword research is the most important part of planning your marketing. It's just not the number of searches (that's the easy part) but you have to then analyze the competition of the other sites ranking in the top ten. That's your competition, because if you can't get into the top 10, it's not worth it. Just don't freak out if you suddenly drop out of the rankings - that's normal. It can take 6 months or longer for your site to start ranking on a consistent basis. Just keep building backlinks from relevant sites and adding quality content. The algorithm is different for competitive vs non-competitive keywords. On-page SEO is much more important for non-competitive keywords - Off-page (backlinks) for competitive keywords.
ok i understand. Im just going to add 3 terms and get backlinks and see how it goes. My other site has the worst domain name but got over 100 SE hits a day and earn me good money, that was because of content. so ill just do what i always do.
Yes domain name is v important, i have seen many zero PR sites beating high PR for a specific keyword.
I'm very happy for you but I would like to remind you that you are also on the right way to get banned. Building a network of sites with the same idea (specially when its an affiliate sites) may cause a ban to your sites: http://voipphoneprovider.info/ http://cheapestvoipcalls.net/ Be careful my friend
No i dont think I will get banned. First of all, many many many people do that where they use many sites to promote themselves. My content is UNIQUE on all sites. You wotn see duplicate stuff anywhere. I only work on one site at a time, voipphoneprovider i have stopped working on because it was not good. Google doesnt ban people for doing many sites. 1000s of sites do it, look around
hello domain plays an important role .if you have good domain keywords then you can drive more traffic
Since you are sharing your IP with many more domains, and you have only 2/3 domains on your name its quite safe, but just keep in mind not to start a huge network of affiliate sites that will look similar.
I don't know if anybody else has said this, but your domain is no longer first... well not for me anyway... it's 7th.
Domain name is the single most important factor. The kids who scream 'content is king' haven't ever tried to employ methods of significant keyword domains. Thus, they are unaware of the massive traffic that good domain names receive due to search engine algorithms. Yes, you have to have content- but anyone can pay $4.50 for an article and have content. It doesn't matter if your content is 'ground breaking' or just 'gibberish' it still works. You can choose to ignore my advice if you wish- most people who can't afford decent names do- but if you get a decent name you will be way ahead. Thus, the reason that decent domain names continue to sell for lots and lots of money.
