Domain Name Length, Does it Effect SEO?

    I am looking to have a domain name that has my main keyword of focus in it plus 1 extra word, it is 25 characters in length not counting the www or .com

    Will this long length effect the Google ranking of my website, and will I be docked SEO points because of the length?

    As long as both words have some marketing value to your keywords. Also avoid dashes. Just make it one word.

    It doesn't matter at all in fact, sometimes it will help you with being more relevant with your description, tags, and content!!

    Agreed with above post. This domain won't be a problem with SE but it would be tough for human beings to remember so long domain, you might face direct traffic issue. Let me cross figure for u.

    Keyword in domain name generally gives positive effect but still dont make it too lengthy, just add both keywords combinely, if you can or if not try to add only main keyword in domain name ..

    I agree, and in addition, you may lose traffic if you have a domain that contains three-four words (long domains), so it is a win and win situation.

    Optimize the domain for search engines, or would you optimize the domain for users? :D

    IMO, shorter URL are better than the long ones but still depends on your purpose (is it for the users? or search engines?). Personally, i like domain names that are short because they are easily recognized/remembered.
