After a long hunt for an available keyword-rich domain name, I think I may have found one. When I do an "allintitle" search on Google, there's only 30 results. (That's good, right?) The problem is when I put this 3-word phrase in Google's Keyword Tool for its exact match type, the CPC is only 5 cents, there's not enough data for July, and the global monthly search volume is just under 50. (That's a disaster, right?) Do these results mean I need to go back to the drawing board? Or do keywords in the domain name not matter that much to a site's overall success?
You don't want to pick a keyword rich domain to target a keyword no one is searching for - especially one that isn't going to pay much. Even with a #1 google ranking, only about 40% will click on average - so you are talking about 20 visitors per month. Even if you get a 20% ctr on adsense, you are talking about 4 clicks. 4 clicks times x = very low amount.
Thanks for the input. It appears that every decent keyword phrase has already been taken in the educational niche I'm looking to get into. This is really frustrating.
