I have my eye on this domain name which is already registered but will expire soon.

After it expires and the person doesn't renew it, how can I obtain it?

On Go Daddy you have to wait a period of 30-45 days after it expires before it is actually deleted out of the other persons account. In that time the domain holder can renew. This has happened to me.

no matter where the domain name is..you will need to wait for around 75-80 days for getting the domain name..its going to take that long since its mandated by ICANN

You will want to register at snapnames.com and pay to have them try and grab it for you. It costs $60, but if there is any competition for the domain, then there will be domainers going after it, or another domain company might just pick it up for resale purposes themselves.

If the domain has any good traffic to it or is a short domain name you should register at snapnames.com and put it on backorder there. They will have the best chance of getting the domain for you.

Why not get in touch with the current owner and offer him a couple of bucks to transfer it to you before it expires?

you can directly contact the current owner and discuss about your offer... if you allow this domain to expire you have to wait till approx. 45 days so why to waste that much time? better contact the owner right away.

You could have the domain in TDNAM if it was registered in godaddy, and you can grab it by that way

get at least to snaps started for the domain (Maybe GoDaddy & Snapnames)
you'll wait about 75 days after the expiration date
Depending on the keywords in the name many domain harvesters may beat u to it because of the manners they use to get them when they drop
