Currently, my domain name does have one of my targeted keywords in it. However, it also has a "-" in it. My keywords and niche include free stuff, freebies and samples. My domain name is www.freebie-link.com. Does the "-" in the domain name negatively effect my SEO? Also, if I buy a new domain and redirect the old one to the new one, how bad would my SEO and google placement be affected?

IMO the hyphen "-" does not make a difference, one of my sites has a hyphen in the domain name and ranks on page1 for a very competitive keyword.
