Domain name DiggBoss.com (problems with Digg?)

    The title says it all.

I have a domain name diggboss.com, which purpose is entirely different than Digg but is related to Digg in some way (http://diggboss.com).

Is there any legal problems on this?

I hope I am not infringing their trademark, because the concept is just different and I am not imitating their service in any way. It is just like myspace*****.com or any website that uses "myspace" in its name. Or maybe googlesightseeing.com. The name "google" is used to supplement the site's name.

But I might be wrong here, as I am no legal experts.
    Any insights?

    Thanks for reading... :)

    Sweet man!

I use your site all the time.

And yes, you can get in trouble with digg, because you are using the digg trademark, and its associated with what digg stands for. So if they say fit, you could have to change your name.

PS: Mind giving me 50 digg or stumble credits for helping you out? :D

lol, i am glad to hear that you like the site.

    hmm... true, digg is trademarked.
but we are not "competing" in the same niche and i am not using their exact name. just like those www.myspaceanything.com sites which supplement myspace.

i wonder what the new name shall be...
cannot think of anything good right now.

suggest a unique and catchy name for me and i will credit you for that :)
(just PM please, keep the thread on topic)

I think there will be a problem because of this sort of activity is against theres terms and conditions and it's trademarked, sent you a domain idea.

I think even something like Duggboss.com would work. That is not trademark infringe and is similar to your current domain.

What would first happen is they would just contact you and tell you to either change the name or shut the site down. No point in getting into legal issues if they can just tell you to stop.

THEN if you say no (which would be dumb) then you'll see legal actions.
    I'm not a lawyer though
