hey guys i am going to be selling modified xbox 360 controllers. if the domain contains the word 360 is that ok? it does not contain the word xbox.
Yep, be careful with this. In my experience, one of the domain/website for a company I used to work for was asked to shutdown or change the domain name to something that didn't have the copyrighted name. 360 might be too general, but having xbox in your domain name could certainly raise flags.
You will be fine if your domain name contains just 360 in it. The company can only request that you release the domain if it violates a Trademark. So aslong as you do not include xbox or xbox360 in the domain name you'll be fine.
a similar question... I have a website that promotes music, but my site's name derives from a club that I frequent. It has the club's name in the url but it is not the whole url. I am not affiliated with this club in any way, and state that on my site. Are there any ramifications I might encounter because of the name of my site?
Yahoo also used 360 at one point. but i wouldn't use xbox. But if you cant use xbox then why use 360?
