Domain Name changed -- Now what

    Hi guys,
    i recently changed my domain names and due to this i lost my traffic and ranking on the major search engiens, what can i do to gain it back.

    You need to do a 301 redirect from your old domain name to your new domain name.

    yes redirection will restore your position and traffic.

    By changing you domain name, you have reset everything. You are a new site.

    First setup a Google Webmaster Tools account, create and submit an XML Sitemap via WMT ("Weekly").

    If the old site is still up and the new site is indexed, you will trigger a duplicate content penalty on the new site. So make sure every page is redirected.

    i had the same experience before and i intend not to do it again. :(
