Domain name buyer - scam?

This guy named Kunal emailed me about selling one of my domains:

I replied with what's your offer?

I asked him how he would pay

I asked him where he was from

The area code on the phone number is a Chicago area code.

    He sent another email

This kind of weirded me out for some reason.

He responded after I said I would use escrow.com

What do you think? This domain (barely any traffic btw - he didn't ask about this either) in my opinion is not worth $1000.

Possibly, make sure he doesn't come back and ask you to use a certain valuation site to value the domain as that is an old scam.

If he proceeds through escrow make sure you login to escrow.com once the transaction is setup and don't use any links he emails you to join/confirm escrow dealings and you should be safe enough.

Not a typical scam, and the name raises no red flags.
escrow.com is fine to use; so long as they release the domain and give you the money, no worries of chargebacks, etc.

Another person contacted a friend of mine to buy a .info domain with absolutely no traffic and no use. He offered instantly $5000
After that, he changed his mind and put him to use a valuation site of his.

    What do you think ?

Yes, the second example is a common domain appraisal scam. The first post sounded a little different but, then again, the scammers evolve over time and get better and better at their scam techniques. Just stay cautious and whenever they want you to pay for something up front it's probably a scam.
