I'm looking at finding a domain name brokerage to locate several names of interest. Many good reviews have come from www.afternic.com yet I need some opinions because it seems like they have long waiting lists at times. Any help is appreciated.

There is nothing brokerage etc..... you are the broker of your domain name...

You need to find the buyer to sell the domain name thats it...

If you have very valuable domain name like buy.com, sell.com, business.com then you can take help of broker......

I had assumed that brokers could move portfolios and any domain with an expected value over $5k, not just premier names.

If you are at Sedo, it provides brokerage services, you can try this and find if it is helpful or not, it charges fee so you have to pay first.. apart from paying commission if sold.

I'm not against paying fees for brokerage - I am, however, against paying for fees without seeing effort on the broker's end.
