Domain name and subdomain vs folders?

    Hi,

    I'm thinking of creating a site relating to females. I plan to focus on a specific ethnicity at first but later I want to add in others

    So my questions are:

    DOMAIN:
    When using google keyword tool ("exact and phrase") should I try to include keywords that have a high global search 300k+ or lower 10k+?
    [sexy girls] exact match gets 1.2KK searches
[hot models] exact match gets 33K searches
"hot models" phrase match gets 110K searches
    Code (markup):
    So would a domain like sexygirlshere.com be better than hotmodelshere.com ?

    SUBDOMAIN/FOLDER:
    I'm not entirely clear on how subdomains affect a site.

    Since I'm doing different ethnic models, which setup would be better?
    sexygirlshere.com/jap
hotmodelshere.com/white

jp.sexygirlshere.com
kr.sexygirlshere.com
us.hotmodelshere.com

    sexy girl is much better in my opinion,
    and the term has a much higher searches. ;)

    Yea i thought so, but already registered a domain for my blog. sexy girl has lots of searches but it'd be extremely hard to rank on google. So I choose something with less searches but very little competition.

    Hello bioflare,
    a subdomain (like prefix.yourdomain.com) is a completely "new" domain in terms of PR, ranking and SEO efforts. A subfolder instead has to be thought as a part of the main domain, so it inherits PR and ranking from the main domain.

    In some circumnstances it is better having them separate (separate PR and SEO ranking) so you should evaluate this fact before taking any decision. Once decided, don't change anymore. IMHO, obviously.
