Domain Name and Hosting for Australia

My sister lives in Australia and has asked me to design a site for her. As I'm based in the UK, I am finding it difficult to obtain reliable information with regard to Australian domains and hosting.

Does anyone know whether it is now possible to register more than one .com.au domain per company. I seem to think that it was restricted to one domain per company, but that this has now been lifted. Am I right?

I also need to obtain a hosting package and I am assuming that I can buy hosting anywhere in the world for an Australian site. I don't need massive amounts of storage or bandwidth, but would like to keep the costs down. I have seen ads for one.com, offering what would appear to be a free service. I know that there is no such thing as a free lunch, so what's the catch?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

She'll have to register the .au name.

You can host the name almost anywhere.
You just have to make sure the hosts accept .au names.

    IX hosting does for example.

Thanks for confirming exactly what I suspected, but couldn't confirm.
