Domain name already owned - what to do?

    Hi all,
A domain name that I want is already owned by someone. it is coming up for renewal soon and it says that they are not allowed to renew it or extend it. what do I do? I need to do this in the smartest way possible to avoid them trying to take advantage of the situation and charge me a ton for it.
    Thanks.

You can try back ordering the domain where the provider will try to register the domain as soon as its dropped to pool of available domains. :)

    Try SnapNames,com and Pool,com.
Never tried but they claim to be able to "snap" that name for you (or for an auction if there are more people interested) as soon as it becomes available. If indeed there are more people going for that domain and they use snapping services, you won't stand a chance if trying to register on your own.

This is all assuming that the domain drops of course.
