    Hello,

I'm building an Instant domain lookup tool similar to http://ajaxwhois.com/ & http://instantdomainsearch.com/ but with added functionnalities.

I need your help - fellow domainers:

    Question 1:
Name the top 3 information you look at when querying about domain name:
Domain status (availability) - Expiry date - Owner name - Owner email address - Server IP, etc

    Question 2:
Which domain lookup service you use and why?

    Question 3:
What features you need and can't find in any tool available online?

Please answer these question and let's work together on this thing.

    Cheers,
    Nabil.

Why would you build such a tool, when many like them already exist?

There's no point in reinventing the wheel, especially when other tools exist and are a lot more mature than yours.

@zzzw - Thank you for your input.
Actually I studied the services available online and found many features missing and tought it would be great if I could develop something to fill the hole.

I believe the services I mentionned in the OP are great - I use them both, but nothing is perfect.

I agree with zzzw. There are so many online tools for this already. Domaintools.com already provides everything anyone would need in regard to domain name information. Plus it's mostly free as well.

Yes, there's nothing wrong with it. Many competitors coexist and sometimes combine efforts to provide better services and products (iPhone+Yahoo+Google).

I take back what I said. I just tried out the tool in your signature- tinychecker.com

It really is awesome. I would recommend everybody to check it out. I am actually using it right now. The best AJAX domain checker with exactly the kind of information I want to check up quickly. Keep up the good work man :)

    @tdn878

Thank you for your support, I'm glad you changed your mind. I will add some more exciting features I have in my mind as soon as the Tiny Checker gets more popularity.
