Domain Length? The Shorter The Better?

    Does anyone know if the length of the domain being shorter has any SERP listing results per se? An important site of mine (12 char domain) still hasnt been indexed in google while fahd.org was indexed faster than anything I have ever experienced! :confused:

    Lol I dont think I have ever seen a website that long.

    But no as above mentioned it makes no difference on SE's placement, as far as I know.

    However a shorter domain with a usefull word or well branded name could value more :)

    I imagine webmasters lean towards purchasing a domain with less characters because alot of people (such as myself) cannot be arsed with typing in long domain names into the address bar. ;)

    Oh and shorter looks more presentable too.

    It is better to have a shorter domain for people to type in the name more easily into your browser, but as for search engines, it is better to have your keywords in your domain name. For example I started a blog site for movie reviews, and so I looked for a domain name with the word "Movie". This will help your search engine rankings.

    long domains are long. but you can type a well known word thats 7 letters much quicker than you can type a short 4 letter nonsense for example.

    for example i find it faster to type quicker.com than for example, p0az.com

    Just my opinion. Also ill remember quicker.com more easily.

    Its all about finding the middle ground.

    depends on what you need the domain for, if it is to make a point like long banana then it's fine, otherwise think memorable.
